HE WILL COME

Gethsemanes of disregard
Are distant torments now –
As hope elopes with touchstone truths –
Sealed up in topaz vow,

In snow and gold, necklace and ring,
In cut, in clarity,
In color, and divine design –
The troth is parity.

Simplicity is manifold –
Sincerity – a foil
To show the shining deathlessness
Of love the dark can’t spoil.

this has a lot of strong images. it triggered a lot when i read it and the processing is not finished yet. i think that is a very good sign. :)

I am glad that you can process something substantial from any of my poems. I sometimes wonder if the rhyming lyric form, not in vogue, is an impediment to readers. However, I want these to be silently singable, like hymn lyrics. My friend Karen is planning to compose tunes for some of them.
