PRECOCIOUS

The daffodils are dancing up –
A January dare!
The deer turn up their nose at them –
The shoots don’t seem to care!

I worry if they rise too soon
Their trumpet gold will freeze –
They send out green notes anyway –
Their only aim to please.

Love the allusion to one of my favorite poems of dancing daffodils. Makes me a bit homesick for the land of the daffodils and tulips, though I'm loving our 70+ degree weather here.
Thank you for sharing you gift with us.

Were you thinking of the Wordsworth poem? I was able to visit his Dove Cottage when I went to the Lakes District this summer. They had many daffodil items in the gift store.
