LAST DAY FOR LEAVES

It’s not some’s verbal cup of tea –
Transparency seems bland –
But phosphorescent maple slopes
Steep autumn from one’s hand.

The drive around the loop was late –
The dusk was hovering –
But fall’s florescent foliage
Evaded covering.
