STORM SONG

STORM SONG

The lightning claps
The thunder’s doom –
A flood of sound
Emits the room –
Electric snaps
Announce the boom –
The rumble peaks
Into the gloom.

AUGUST PSALM

AUGUST PSALM

The desert is as green as spring –
A prism in the east –
A partly cloudy atmosphere
Protects me from the heat.

Vermillion cliffs escorting me –
The landscape as a shield –
The western wilderness a fort
For revelation’s yield.

CARDINAL PSALM

CARDINAL PSALM

Of all the winds that wind the Earth,
Which one will take you home?
The Zephyr of the Occident?
The polar blast from Nome?

The capillary canyon breeze?
The gusts of discontent?
The whispers of the Orient?
Or greasewood’s southern scent?

PAGE TWO

A prism marks a common wall –
Assuring me that light
Belies the Lord’s economy –
Though hidden from my sight.

A bevel in a curtained room –
With no apparent source –
Arrays as it uncovers truth
With modest layered force.

My poetry is back again –
A rainbow’s outer lines
Help me to see the colors of
The inner world’s designs.
