of course i like the message. yet i find the choice of register a bit... cumbersome. the two lines with "thou" in them feel like they're in such contrast with the other two, "modern" lines. is that intentional? if not, maybe you could "age" these two other lines.

btw the photo is adorable. it made me smile. thanks for that. treehugger... (i've been called that so many times!) are those birches? the bark looks like they must be but i've never seen any this big. where was this taken?

I wanted to have a lighter comic tone to this admonition, so I changed the "you" pronouns to "thou" as a deliberate posture. But I will change it back to see what you think. The trees are aspens. I went from Crested Butte by way of Kebbeler Road, through the largest aspen grove in the world. A couple, who were guests at the Nordic Inn also, followed me and took the picture.
