MARTYR PSALM
Abinadi and Tyndale burned –
The torch was lit by lies –
Their message could not be consumed –
No martyr really dies –
St. Joan of Arc and Lady Jane –
St. Ursula’s young maids –
Their testimony is secured
By selfless holy deeds.

"Croft of Light" is a forum for poetry, photography, and philology (the love of language). With Emily Dickinson as a tutor, Dag Hammarskjold as a mentor, and Noah Webster as a teacher, I hope to express light through lyric verse. Many of the texts are psalms, meant for musical accompaniment. My style favors simplicity and sincerity. My voice can be comic or serious. My tone may be innocent or ironic. Some of the pieces are just for practice. Respectful responses and comments are welcome.

This is true. I would like to know about St. Ursula and Lady Jane. This is a deep poem. Also, a historical poem.
